Korum Precision Rods

There was a time when the rod builders art was only available to the fortunate few. At Korum we believe that rods built with such attention to detail should be available to all.

For the last ten months we have been secretly working to develop and test what we believe to be the best range of rods for the Modern Coarse Angler ever made.

In short, a range of rods built with Precision.

11ft & 12ft Precision Feeder Rods

Here at Korum we believe we've helped anglers everywhere master the art of feeder fishing. The popularity of the Korum Multi-Feeder rod, for instance, has been nothing short of remarkable, so for 2011 we have designed two new feeder rods to add into the impressive Precision range. Primarily formulated for use on stillwaters, the 11ft and 12ft Precision Feeder Rods are steely tools that are perfect when targeting carp, tench, bream and silvers. You may even have some fun chasing river roach, chub and even barbel with these superb rods, such is the quality of the semi-fast action. Anglers will hit more bites, and land more fish – it's a simple choice, really.

Precision Compact Float

This 11ft two-piece float rod is an absolute joy to use, weighing just 6 ounces and feeling even lighter thanks to the perfect balance, it can be held all day without becoming cumbersome. By using a combination of high-grade low-resin carbons we have produced a rod with a lightning fast action, making bites much easier to hit, yet which retains an action that bends right through the blank, eliminating hook-pulls. Designed for ultra-accurate casting at short to medium range, this is the ideal rod for fishing tight to islands with a small waggler for carp, fishing a dumpy waggler up in the water for roach, or trotting a stick float for fast biting dace.

Developed without compromise to offer the best performance possible Precision rods are perfect for the modern angler.

Power Float

Precision Power float

Quite possibly our favourite rod in the whole Precision range! At 13ft with a progressive power action this rod is perfect for the All-rounder. In testing we used it on our local River Severn for catching chub and barbel on the balsa float, had some huge bags of carp and tench from our local pools on it and loved using it for waggler fishing for specimen roach. In short, if you are looking for a float rod that you can take anywhere and do almost anything, then this is the rod for you. We normally leave this rod in the car for the odd snatched session when time permits. The four-piece construction meaning it can be hidden easily in the boot, or simply split into two and left tackled up.

Big fish float

Precision BIG FISH float

Designed to handle double figure carp, barbel and big tench close to weed, the Big Fish Float is our most powerful float rod ever, yet retains the fantastic fish-playing action and balance of its lighter counterparts. This rod took us longer to perfect than any other in the range, simply because we were not willing to compromise on the balance and feel of the rod just to obtain the right action. Despite the massive reserves of power that this rod has, it handles superbly and can be held all day when trotting, or fishing for hard-fighting carp close to cover.

Multi Feeder

Precision Multi-Feeder

Specifically developed to cover the majority of feeder and ledgering on stillwaters and smaller rivers, the two-tips of the Multi-Feeder give a multitude of options, fit the Quiver tip for maximum bite detection when feeder fishing, switching to the 1.5lb hollow tip when using bigger feeders and leads in conjunction with a bite alarm. The action of the Multi-feeder is quite distinct from that found on our Specialist rods. The Multi-Feeder is best described as having a semi-fast action, with reserves of power in the butt and forgiving tips. This combination gives fantastic casting performance, yet allows the use of light hook lengths and small hooks, ideal for finicky carp and bream. Over recent seasons we have increasingly used Multi-feeder rods fitted with the 1.5lb tip for Bagging Waggler, Floating Method Feeder and Surface fishing for carp. The stiff action in the butt gives great casting accuracy, whilst the soft, forgiving tip absorbs the lunges of carp hooked close to the surface.

Precision SPECIALIST 1.75LB AND 2LB

Right through the Summer and Autumn months it is probably fair to say that one of our guys will be barbel fishing almost every evening, so we certainly have lots of opinions on what makes a good Specialist rod! Over recent seasons one trend that we have noticed is that feeders and leads have got bigger. Add in a PVA stick of pellets and you can often be launching several ounces out into the middle of a big river. The increased weight demands put on Specialist rods has led most companies to increasingly produce stiffer and heavier rods to handle the weight. Whilst increasing the test curve works, in our opinion it does take away from the fun of playing chub and small barbel. Rather than go down this route, we have carefully tweaked the action of these rods to increase power in the butt and mid-section without affecting the fish-playing action. The result is a pair of rods built specifically for the modern Specialist angler. Pick one up and you will notice the ‘Steely’ action and fast recovery that has been achieved without affecting the perfect balance and weight.

The Specialist rods have been developed with a ‘steely’ action that is perfect for casting the larger leads and feeder associated with modern fishing.

Precision SPECIALIST 2.75LB

The heaviest rod in the range, yet one that has a multitude of uses. The semi-parabolic action of the blank has been developed to give a controlled build-up of power, making long casting easier, particularly with bulky loads, such as method feeders and dead baits. Use them from right under the rod tips to the far horizon. In the Summer months we use a pair of these rods for specimen carp fishing at ranges up to the 100m mark. In big floods they are pressed into service with 8oz leads for flood water barbelling, and in the depths of Winter they make the perfect pike rods.

Neoteric quiver

A really versatile rod that thanks to its forgiving action will handle the light lines and small hooks often associated with Winter chub and roach, right through to big barbel.
With the 1.75lb hollow tip fitted this rod will handle big chub and barbel in small to medium sized rivers, and is also great for feeder fishing in stillwaters for tench and bream.

Neoteric TWIN TIP

Supplied with two tips that blend perfectly into the butt, the 1.75lb tip is ideal when targeting barbel, tench and bream on the feeder, whilst the 2.2lb tip is best for big rivers and reservoirs, when casting larger leads and feeders for barbel, carp and big bream.

“Designed for the modern angler looking for the ultimate in performance when faced with today’s larger specimens, the Neoteric range has won numerous plaudits since its launch. Each rod has been developed by the Korum design team and then strenuously tested to give optimum performance and fantastic styling.”
