Another day session on the River Ribble, conditions were low and clear, just how I like them for this time of year. Finding the fish is a lot easier and I always seem to find them hiding in the snags. I went for walk before I got my gear out, on the opposite side of the bank from where I was fishing. Armed with the polarised glasses, i  managed to find a peg with about 10 - 15 barbel around a dead tree with a few chub there.

The peg was about 50yards wide with plenty of dead trees on the far bank but fish seemed to be holding up around one tree in particular. So I got my gear out and setup opposite the tree. Within 5 minutes of casting in I had a chub on the bank of around 3lb and not long after that, a barbel of 4lb I was fishing with a Korum Running Rig Kit with a straight lead and an Avid Carp PVA Link attached to the swivel. I chose to fish with a kinder egg sized PVA mesh bag, filled with Code Red and Spicy Sausage pellets.

I found that if you didn't cast within about a foot of the dead tree you wouldn't get a bite. I fished for about for 5 hours and ended up with 7 barbel from 2lb to 9lb 2oz and 3 chub; the biggest being 4lb 6oz.
